JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
REPORTING TO:
BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
OVERAL MISSION
Manages organization
operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established
goals, objectives, and policies. Follows direction set by Board of Management.
Implements programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit.
Provides direction and structure for operating units. Participate in developing
policy and strategic plans
SPECIFIC DUTIES
1. Overall strategy:
- Define and propose an adequate strategy for the
company especially in terms of commercial presence
- Nourish and develop the company image through new
communication techniques in harmony with company policies, focus on progress
and modernity
- The objective being to secure sales growth and
increase
- Financial profitability for the company.
2. Business
management:
2.1 Sales
With Retail Manager
- to assume direct (or indirect) responsibility for all
branch stores placed within his jurisdiction.
- to ensure that all stores provide customers with
optimal service and the best conditions to discover TAMSON' product lines
- to explore development initiatives for the stores
network;
- to design and implement sales stimulation actions in
the stores network, either through the teams or the products
2.2 Buying
With Retail Manager/CFO
- to agree the buying budgets for each store
- to ensure the actual buying respects the merchandise
strategy approved by the Management Board in terms of both product selection
and amount bought
2.3 Expansion
With Expansion Manager
- to study the potential of new proposed locations
- For new brands, to meet the potential suppliers and
assess their abilities
- to negotiate contractual terms with the different
partners (concessionaires, local authority, malls and stores owners)
- to follow up stores construction and to coordinate
with the different departments involved
3. Team management:
With Human Resource Manager:
- to recruit and build a competent management team of
TAMSON
- to provide the appropriate training programs for
staff, sales team in particular
- to define compensation schemes for the management team
in relation with Group Policy
- to make sure that the style, behavior and performance
of the staffs are always close to the Group standards of excellence, in the
same time secure well-being and individual progression for each member of
the whole team
4. Organization,
financial management and administration:
With Chief Financial Officer
- to elaborate and propose the annual budget and 3 year
plan for the Company
- to report to Board of Management monthly on actions
engaged or planned by the Company
- to ensure conformity of Accounting, Tax and Legal
procedures with respect to territorial legislations
- to propose and implement an appropriate organization
adapted to the Company's needs
- to inform TAMSON 's Management Board of its various
options in terms of the management of its financial resources (choice of
investments, financing means, treasury management); formulate and implement
recommendations
- to preserve TAMSON from any liability in the territory
which may harm its brands, or any counterfeit
5. Communication:
With Communication Manager:
- to be a key contact to maintain and develop the
relationship with supplier.
- to propose and implement a communication plan and
adapted actions to ensure full understanding and awareness of TAMSON'
identity in the territory
- to secure coherence between communication initiatives
and seek synergies between TAMSON' various specialties
- to propose and submit to the approval of TAMSON'
Management Board all new projects and / or documents created in this field
- to secure TAMSON’ representation in the territory with
various communities, especially customers, local authorities and ; banks,
insurance companies and legal entities; suppliers and service providers;
press and prescribes; to achieve this, develop local influence and integrity
in order to reinforce TAMSON global image
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated success as a fashion retail COO or in a
position of similar scope and responsibility,
- International business experience.
- Demonstrated ability to combine strategic and tactical
expertise to produce bottom line results. Instrumental in achieving gross
margin and customer satisfaction goals while controlling costs through
effective operations and development practices, teambuilding, and leadership
expertise.
- A propensity for growing, managing, and developing a
business with entrepreneurial characteristics.
- Performance metric and process-oriented leader and
manager.
- Experienced in the use of business process tools
including enterprise management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams and
achieve results through the efforts of others.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and
communication skills.
- Strong customer orientation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Expat
- Minimum 5-year experience in managing world leading
brands and retail outlets in Asia. Experience in fashion retail group
preferred
- Bachelors’ degree in Business Management, or related
field. Masters preferred.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
USD 100’000 annual income plus Company profit sharing
